“…The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potters oven?”
– “Joy and Sorrow” The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
These lines from Khalil Gibran’s beautiful poem inspire us to reconsider the gifts of being present to the pains of life as well as the joy.

This week I let the poetry move you (link to whole poem below).

May I remind you that it takes courage to experience a deep emotion and still choose to look up at the sun to find your next step in a life that matters deeply to you.
Actually, it takes compassion and courage.
1.) Self Compassion for all that you are experiencing. Kindness towards your sorrow or suffering.
2.) Courage to look up when you want to crawl in a hole. Brave to reach out for support so that you can keep moving your feet towards what deeply matters.
One never knows when the joy will come. There are no guarantees.
Yet, over time, the room that you make for sorrow or pain also expands the size of your heart to sing your joy.
May abundance follow you as you step bravely forward with sorrow and joy,
Kirsten

PPS. I teach the tools and skills that make it easier to take brave action in the face of difficult feelings, memories and more. Women can feel more nourished every day, even when they are busy holding it all together. It is possible. 💫
