Day 13 Coaching Prompt
“Clutter-clearing is modern day alchemy.” – Denise Linn
When we look around the space we live in, our mind picks up messages subliminally on what we see. If we see items or a landscape in our house that drain us of energy, then this happens in our minds and bodies as well.
Today’s action:
For today, stand in one room of your choice. Take a big breath in and out and begin to slowly notice each item in your room as it is. Bring your attention to your body as your eyes scan the room. Notice which section of your room
energizes you and which areas drain you. Begin to learn about the impact your environment is having on you. The next step could be to clutter clear one area of your room.
If you choose to declutter:
1. Remove items that you have not used in over a year or items that no longer serve your energy. (Is that item from your grandmother’s house something you are holding onto out of obligation or joy?)
2. Be ruthless.
3. Reflect on this life coaching program and what you already have chosen to stand for in your life. Bring qualities to the room that serve your spirit (and the purpose of the room) by carefully selecting where items are placed.
Now, this idea of doing one room may feel too big to achieve. If so, find an area to clutter clear that is manageable and allows you to start to feel the immediate impact of your clutter-clearing. For instance, you could clutter clear your purse/handbag or a drawer beside your bed. Each time you reach in to the drawer (or bag) you will feel the order and loving space that you have created for yourself.
A space that energizes you will continue to expand and energize your thoughts, dreams and wellbeing. No area is too small to begin to declutter to get results. Have some fun with this. Let go of “stuck” energy to make room for the energy to flow towards more peace and to open up to your dreams.
Love,
Kirsten
Notice the image I choose for today is nature acting as her own reflecting pool. Weather will come through and disturb the still waters much like our daily life stirs up a room. And, then, nature will reach a natural equilibrium that restores stillness. We too can return to a state inner calm by rhythmically clutter clearing our outer world .
